A variety of spirituality programs (including an outdoor Labyrinth and Meditation Garden) are available, as stand alone experiences or in addition to your own program. Who are we?
The William Temple Episcopal Center is a 40 year old mission of the Diocese of Texas. We serve the spirituality needs of UTMB and the Galveston community with courses, lectures, pastoral care, seminars and workshops that deal with spirituality and healthcare.

What kind of facility is it?
The Center is a one story cruciform building across the street from the UTMB complex on Market Street, just a few blocks east of downtown Galveston.

• Our Commons room amply seats 88+ people (with round tables for eight)
• The fully appointed Chapel of St. Luke the Physician seats 130 people in 26 pews.
• Our four class rooms vary in size from a 12 to 25 persons capacity. They work well as meditation areas and break out rooms.
• The Reference Library holds books, magazines, periodicals and videotapes on spirituality, pastoral care, the Labyrinth, healing and theology, and can be a meeting room.
• We have a canvas rental labyrinth and a beautiful stone outdoor Chartres design Labyrinth, with landscaped grounds for walking and meditating.
• A full kitchen, dining area, 4 bathrooms, offices, workroom and waiting room complete the facility.
• We are fully air-conditioned and heated, and have sound and video equipment.
• There is ample off street parking and handicapped access to the building.

Half day full facility rental (5 hrs.)...$130

Commons Room full day rental ... $110

Commons Room half day rental ... $60.

A $25 table set up and room clean up fee is charged for all Commons Room rentals. A $35 fee is charged for all classroom rentals. Kitchen rental is $50 for one day. The outdoor labyrinth, grounds, parking facilities, library and rest rooms are available to all renters regardless of the room(s) and/or length of time renting.

The Center does not have overnight facilities. Galveston has many nice hotels/motels with a wide varity of price ranges.

Events can be catered by your arrangement, or you can use our kitchen to prepare your own food. We have limited equipment for beverages and snacks, table linens and glassware.

If you have special needs (audio visual equipment, massage tables etc.), we’d be happy to work with you. We want to help your organization or church group have a successful, meaningful meeting here.
